Overhead Conveyor Oil Metered Injection System
We recommend that a regular maintenance schedule be implemented. Often we come across conveyors with seized bearings which can go undetected over a period of time. The caterpillar drive unit has a large amount of torque that simply continues dragging the chain around causing untold damage to the conveyor tracks as the seized bearings gouge out flat sections within them. Another area that is often neglected is the caterpillar drive dog assembly. Broken drive dog pins and faulty drive dog springs often cause the drive dog jaws to disengage and jamb the conveyor system. As the system ages and wear occurs it may become necessary to remove a section of chain and re-adjust the track take up assembly. Make sure the chain is always property lubricated. The life of the system is directly related to the amount of lubricant used. For any assistance, advice regarding your conveyor system please contact us.
